Warehouse Racking Systems Project Manager

Position Overview

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager’s primary responsibility is overseeing and managing the post-sale/ project management process to ensure a positive customer experience. This will require effective and ongoing communication and coordination with customer contacts, vendors and various internal team members (Engineering, Sales, sales coordination, Account Managers, Management). The role assumes leadership and accountability for maintaining project scope.


Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Act as the point person for designated projects to make sure all aspects of the project are met with success according to customer expectations.
  • Work with Engineering and Sales to develop project scope prior to order acceptance and obtain signoff from customer and Sales.
  • Understand and manage project budget.
  • Develop timeline and ensure milestones are met.
  • Provide consistent and thorough communication with the customer in regards to timeline, deliverables and any unexpected delays.
  • Manage permitting process.
  • Evaluate additional requirements that arise during installation process. Avoid “scope creep” when reasonable and generate change orders when applicable.
  • Coordinate post- installation walk- through and training as required.
  • Secure customer sign-off


Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or equivalent work experience as a project engineer/manager (technical background preferred)
  • Relevant project management experience preferred
  • Experience in material handling industry preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Office software, primarily Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Conveyor install background is a plus but if we cannot find someone with that background, we will rearrange the workload of other PM to handle those projects.
