Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Security Engineer specializing in Detection and Threat Analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in handling insider threats, conducting risk assessments, and implementing robust security protocols. This role involves leading and performing cyber incident response activities, analyzing data to identify potential threats, and developing strategies to mitigate risks effectively. The Senior Security Engineer will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicate threats and remediation efforts to leadership, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks such as GDPR, NIST, HIPAA, and ISO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform cyber incident response and insider threat activities to rapidly remediate threats targeting the organization.
  • Conduct insider threat assessments across multiple business units and monitor potential threat actors.
  • Develop and maintain security architecture and design, ensuring alignment with internal and external security requirements and standards.
  • Research and analyze attacks, develop threat briefings, and report findings to internal and external customers.
  • Hunt threats and anomalies on customer endpoints, analyzing data from various sources to identify potential insider threats.
  • Develop and deploy security protocols to strengthen data and infrastructure protection across various cloud platforms, with a focus on identity and access management.
  • Analyze digital evidence, conduct investigations, and preserve data integrity to support legal proceedings or incident response efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations such as GDPR, NIST, HIPAA, and ISO.
  • Communicate threats and remediation efforts to leadership and stakeholders effectively.
  • Operationalize and maintain processes and playbooks required for insider threat analysis.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud services, networking concepts, security mechanisms, and administration, particularly in GCP.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Security Engineering, with a focus on Detection and Threat Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of insider threat assessment, risk management analysis, and security architecture design.
  • Proficiency in conducting cyber incident response activities and analyzing security events.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, including knowledge of networking concepts and security mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, NIST, HIPAA, and ISO.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security +, AWS Solutions Architect, or CISM are preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Scripting languages such as Python or Java.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, packet capture, and protocol analysis.
  • Knowledge of malware analysis/threat analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in simplified terms.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
