We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join a dynamic Accounting Team for an Organization in KCMO. The Controller will oversee all financial activities and contribute to the strategic planning and growth initiatives of the company. This position reports directly to the CFO and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial management.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with GAAP.
- Supervise and mentor a team composed of general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control.
- Lead and conduct the monthly closing process, prepare financial statement, and general ledger accounts
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
- Analyze cost structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-control measures.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance, or related field
- MBA or CPA Strongly Preferred
- 5 years of experience in financial management or controlling roles
- 3 + years in a Management & Leadership Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access Power BI)
- Proficiency in financial reporting, and ERP systems (AS400is a plus)
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of internal controls, and regulatory requirements
