We are currently partnered with a national Am Law 200 firm seeking an experienced Data Privacy Associate to join their Irvine office. We are seeking attorneys with a minimum of 4+ years' background in consumer and employee privacy matters.


The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in legal advisory services, including overseeing data privacy compliance initiatives, drafting privacy policies and notices, advising on data protection agreements, conducting data mapping, guiding consumer consent workflows, addressing technical website/app and digital marketing concerns (such as cookies, pixels, targeted ads, global privacy controls, dark patterns), and assisting clients with data protection impact assessments and data subject requests.


While proficiency in employee and consumer privacy laws and regulations (at state, federal, and/or international levels) is essential, experience in data breach and incident response and reporting, as well as consumer privacy litigation and regulatory enforcement actions, is preferred but not obligatory. Candidates who have obtained the IAPP's Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation in at least one category are highly preferred.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead data privacy compliance initiatives, including drafting policies and advising on agreements, to ensure legal adherence.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on complex technical and regulatory matters related to consumer and employee privacy.
  • Guide clients through data protection assessments and response procedures, ensuring proactive and effective compliance measures.


This role will be a hybrid position (3 days/week in office) in the firm's Irvine office. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
