We are looking for a Design Director to lead our talented team and drive the design vision from concept to production.
Role Overview:
As the Design Director, you will oversee the entire design process, providing leadership and direction for the development of hardgoods and softgoods. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with brand standards, user needs, and market trends. This role is full-time, onsite in Broomfield, Colorado, requiring hands-on leadership and close collaboration with the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design team, fostering creativity and innovation in physical product design.
- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept ideation to prototyping and production.
- Develop and execute a cohesive design strategy aligned with company goals and market demands.
- Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
- Ensure all designs meet quality, aesthetic, and usability standards.
- Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and integrate insights into product development.
- Mentor and inspire the design team to deliver their best work.
- Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in hardgoods and/or softgoods.
- Proven leadership experience in managing design teams and driving successful product launches.
- Expert knowledge of design tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
