About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst with experience in the communications industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting network design, planning, and optimization efforts by leveraging geospatial data and analysis tools. This role is crucial in ensuring that our communications infrastructure is optimized for both efficiency and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:

Geospatial Data Management: Collect, analyze, and manage geospatial data related to communication networks, including fiber optic cables, cell towers, and network nodes.

Mapping & Visualization: Create detailed maps and visualizations that support network planning, expansion, and optimization efforts.

Data Integration: Integrate GIS data with other data sources, including engineering databases, asset management systems, and customer service platforms.

Spatial Analysis: Perform spatial analysis to support decision-making in network design, coverage optimization, and market expansion strategies.

Support Planning: Collaborate with network engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure geospatial data is used effectively in project planning and execution.

Reporting & Documentation: Generate reports and documentation for stakeholders that detail findings, projections, and recommendations based on geospatial data analysis.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of GIS data across different platforms and projects.

Automation & Process Improvement: Develop automated scripts and processes to improve the efficiency of geospatial data management and analysis tasks.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in GIS is a plus.


Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a GIS Analyst, with a focus on the communications industry (e.g., telecommunications, broadband, wireless).
  • Proficiency in working with geospatial software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth Pro.
  • Experience with spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial).
  • Familiarity with communication network design, including fiber optics, cellular networks, and wireless systems.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and data processing.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of CAD and engineering design tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing and satellite imagery analysis.
