The Service Technician independently repairs machines in the shop. This role removes, installs, repairs, and performs failure analysis of all engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and electronic and computer applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conducts necessary machine performance and diagnostic tests, interprets results and makes an independent decision as to the extent of machine repair.

Uses troubleshooting methods to repair and diagnose machine and attachment failures

Adapts knowledge of multiple machine systems to troubleshoot and repair new equipment models.

Repairs machines within the time requirement guidelines.

Uses web based diagnostic systems effectively to address technical issues.

Conducts business professionally. Maintains self control and integrity in stressful situations.

Maintains a professional image.

Orders parts required to complete repairs. Evaluates parts to determine reusability and cause of failure.

Completes service reports, time entry, and all other paperwork and reporting on a laptop and submits them daily via e-mail.

Communicates machine issues, problem resolution plan(s) and status of repair(s) to customer during repairs.

Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards

Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent customer service skills.

Perform duties with minimal supervision required.

Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others to include customers, vendors, employees and the public.

Knowledgeable in all multiple machine systems.

- Operate and maintain a variety of industrial equipment, including but not limited to tractors, loaders, excavators, haul trucks and bulldozers

- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order

- Collaborate with dealership or service technicians for repairs and maintenance beyond regular scope

- Conduct diesel engine repairs and troubleshooting as needed

- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs

- Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions

- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including replacing hoses and seals

-Each applicant must be experienced in all aspects of being a professional heavy service technician including but not limited to:

- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment operation and safety protocols

- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is a plus

· Continuous online and factory training

Welding

· CDL (optional)

Tri-State is a Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo/Mack Truck and Certified Cummins Service Center with multiple locations in Montana and Wyoming.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
