Export/Air Logistics Coordinator (In Office) Jamaica, NY


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and processes shipments from all foreign origins
  • Consults with clients via email and phone to assist freight movements
  • Communicates and follows up daily with all foreign agents, carriers and internal departments on all shipping instructions provided
  • Communicates delays/shipment issues very clearly both verbally and via email during office and non-office hours
  • Ability to closely monitor the status of all shipments until final destination is reached
  • Enters, reviews and processes shipments into our internal system
  • Manages and reviews the accuracy of all shipping documentation such as air waybills, bill of ladings, & POD’s

· Takes initiative to solve issues as they arrive and asks for help when needed. After hours follow up occasionally required

· Other tasks as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 3-5 years logistics experience working directly for a freight forwarder
  • Need to have knowledge of air/ocean export procedures including documentation and regulations
  • Is able to clearly communicate to multiple audiences verbally and in writing
  • Pays attention to detail, preventing errors and avoiding penalties

· Possesses time management skills to work under pressure with tight deadlines; able to pivot when circumstances change, recover from setbacks and rise to new challenges.

  • Has good interpersonal skills and has a team mindset

· Computer literate with experience with Microsoft Suite products including Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Cruise Logistics experience a PLUS

Education

  • High School Graduate, college degree a plus
  • Industry certifications a plus
