POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Maintenance Manager provides leadership to the maintenance team while supporting the production teams. He/she plans routine preventative maintenance; implements, from conception to completion, projects involving design, procurement and installation of all capital equipment and tooling. Evaluates and develops new equipment processes or products and puts into commercial operation. Ensure that the needs of the machine operators are being met and that constant focus is placed in improving machine conditions. Maintenance manager must ensure that the mechanics are performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, which include capital investments at the site to achieve site business goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITES / DUTIES:
- Lead the maintenance team and provides support in a 24/7 operating environment
- Ensure safety of all team members and contractors working in the plant or department by driving continuous improvement. This includes supporting all corporate safety programs, developing SOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules & regulations
- Ensure compliance with all standards and programs (safety, environmental, quality, maintenance and manufacturing policies and procedures) within area of responsibility
- Forecast, develop, and manage the maintenance budget
- Work cooperatively with other departments to meet plant objectives, diagnose complex equipment problems, meet plant goals, and manage department budget
- Develop and lead preventative/predictive maintenance
- Develop & sustain maintenance as a service culture for the production teams.
- Investigates and troubleshoots problems in manufacturing process. Recommends solutions and obtains or designs and purchase equipment required for solutions.
- Maintain maintenance preventative maintenance software.
- Plans, implements (with the appropriate approval from management), and installs electronic/electrical or mechanical modifications to existing building and equipment (not to exclude the wiring of new equipment used in conjunction with existing equipment and process)
- Determine root cause to mechanical & electrical failures to improve the site’s uptime.
- Manage and oversee parts and maintenance programs and inventory
- Initiate & lead in process improvement, cost reduction and capital project programs
- Work closely with internal and external customers to accomplish plant objectives
EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with similar processes.
- 5 - 10 years of Mechanical and Electrical experience required.
- Management experience for at least 3 years over a Maintenance team.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedure manuals. Also, must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of plant equipment, operations, predictive/preventative maintenance systems and effective project management practices
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and the ability to diagnose bad motors, blown fuses, bad disconnect times, relays, etc.
- Demonstrated organizational, budgeting and computer skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery through the use of blueprints, and root/cause failure analysis
- Ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff, and vendors
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be proactive and have initiative
- Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
- Ability to travel 5-10%
- Manufacturing environment that runs 24/7. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
