Audio Visual Technician


DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

AV Technicians are at the core of the installation team and are responsible for preparing, organizing, and installing Video Wall Display equipment at project sites across the country. In addition to the physical installation of the displays, System Specialists are tasked with the installation of other system components like ceiling loudspeakers and microphones, equipment racks, and cable pulls and terminations. System Specialists will often travel with a crew of 2-4 other Operations members including Site Supervisors and Implementation Engineers to complete projects with a high level of client satisfaction. AV Technicians will learn valuable skills and knowledge about the industry which can provide opportunities for growth within the client.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist in the installation of state-of-the-art Video Walls and other display solutions.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of other AV Solution components.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately read and utilize tools such as tape measures and levels to install and calibrate wall mounts and displays.
  • Perform on-site cable terminations as required.
  • Assist with assembling rack-mounted system components.
  • Troubleshoot display equipment as needed. Interpret any error codes, determine cable vs. display issues, etc...
  • Receive shipments of equipment sent from the warehouse, offload packaged displays and pallets from trucks, and stage equipment at client sites for installation.
  • Assist Implementation Engineers with the testing, troubleshooting, and support of our AV Solution.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Experience:


  • Minimum one year working with network and communications cabling or equivalent education in Audio/Visual or Information Technology
  • Experience in reading and interpreting floor plans and drawings


Specific Skills/Certifications:


  • MS Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think and work independently and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Maintain positive interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Mechanically and technically inclined, proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to pass a Federal Background Check to receive clearance.
  • AV Industry certifications are always a plus.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Hours worked: 40 hours Per Week, (Ability to work overtime when required)
  • Typical office or active building construction site assembly environment; the majority of time spent at the installation site as part of daily routine.
  • Have the ability to stand and lift 50 pounds overhead.
  • Use 6'-to-8' ladders, scaffolding, or mechanical lifts, and be comfortable pulling cable or installing equipment on such setups.
  • Pull cables and use tools in spaces such as drop ceilings and raised floors.
  • This is a Nation Wide Travel position requiring overnight stays.
  • MUST possess a Valid US Driver's License, Passport a plus.
