Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Charlotte, NC


Role:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with Development Project team on the delivery of support and requirements, and contribute in design for projects as per the business needs. You should have experience with DevOps tools, and good communication and well versed with Java, Python. Good in development, and be comfortable to work as an individual contributor as well.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and help maintain the new platform for the future - we are currently looking for the right person to lead and own this effort
  • Help engineering to deploy, monitor, and maintain our microservice platform infrastructure
  • Able to work fully embedded within a team using agile development and iterations, but also able to work independently, but with support.
  • Take ownership of the current AWS-based platform. Troubleshoot existing platform-related customer issues, as needed
  • Working with customers indirectly, being available for the time zone you are working at if troubleshooting is required
  • Continue to support AWS now, but continue to challenge our costs/benefits and keep an eye on the next technology or potential cloud provider
  • Help to improve our CI/CD pipelines, observability, and overall stability of the platform
  • Willingness to travel, at most, once a quarter to be with the team


Requirements:

You are:

  • 5+ years’ experience with TCP/IP network, infrastructure, and security concepts like routing protocols, load balancing, DNS, SSL certificates, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of cloud experience, preferably with AWS services including but not limited to EKS, IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Route53, CI/CD pipeline, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Experience with source control, preferably GIT
  • 5+ years experience with a scripting or software language such as GO or Python for automation
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux and command-line shell scripting
  • Experience with monitoring systems like Prometheus/Grafana or Datadog
  • You have high integrity, ensuring that commitments are met, and can show good stakeholder management skills, especially with diverse groups of global team members including other software engineers, as well as managers and executives
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent


It would be great if you also had:

  • Well versed with SAFe/Agile
  • Security, Audit, Compliance
  • Cloud platform – AWS
  • Experience working in financial services
  • Experience with Security Scanning tools - CheckMarx, Twistlock, Synk, X-ray, Sysdig, Contrast Security any similar tools
  • Experience in Java Application development, deployment, configuration, Unix and integration a plus
