About the role

A boutique interior design studio in Newport Beach is looking to add an innovative Senior Interior Designer to their Multi-Family design team. The Senior Designer will have lots of creative freedom and manage a small team of their own. A great opportunity for someone to work directly under the Design Director and grow with the firm. The ideal candidate is local to Orange County and has previous Multi-Family Design experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly under the Design Director to lead the Multi-family team and mentor/guide junior staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to completion simultaneously
  • Collaborate and initiate ideas for multi-family design concepts for the team to execute
  • Generate design sketches, space plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction & millwork details to facilitate design concepts
  • Help junior staff in creating client presentations and review their CAD drawings
  • Attend client meetings and present ideas effectively to them
  • Create and manage project FF&E budgets and schedules
  • Review finish submittals. Effectively file submittal logs

Skills and Qualifications

  • Interior Architecture/Interior Design Associates Degree from accredited college
  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Bluebeam REVU, Adobe Creative Suite. Revit is nice to have but not required.
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
  • Proven ability to solve Construction Administration issues within the established design context. Respond to RFI’s and submittals in an efficient and timely manner
  • 6 + years’ experience in the interior architecture & design industry with substantial Multifamily interior design/documentation experience required. Will also consider those with Hospitality design backgrounds.
  • Extensive knowledge of finish materials, furnishings and construction methods related to interior architecture
  • This role is in-office Monday - Friday so candidates must be comfortable with commuting
