OVERVIEW:

The Senior Manager of Product Development is responsible for the end-to-end management of each product in development for the brands assigned to the Manager. The Senior Manager is the main point of contact and communication for the brand and is responsible for driving the projects internally and keeping SOS team members and stakeholders up to speed on each initiative.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

-       Oversee each project from development through first production.

-       Lead new product development weekly calls with clients.

-       Co-author development briefs with clients and provide technical and creative expertise to internal and external teams.

-       Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

-       Build strong client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.

-       Maintain existing customer relationships to manage and communicate the priorities and intricacies that may arise in a dynamic production environment.

-       Effectively communicate suggestions and recommendations to client.

-       Manage multiple project development milestones and final project timelines in Wrike.

-       Source and custom develop primary/secondary packaging with external network of suppliers.

-       Ability to translate development brief to R&D chemists for custom formula development.

-       Route all samples and tracking to clients for feedback and approval.

-       Review and provide clear redirects on development samples.

-       Work with the internal R&D team to initiate tech transfers, once a formula is approved.

-       Work with regulatory to compile the final ingredient list for artwork and initiate testing.

-       Develop bill of materials and assembly instructions.

-       Identify target cost of goods and ensure projects are meeting margin expectations.

-       Secure pricing from all third-party suppliers.

-       Work with manufacturing sites to confirm fill weight and assembly instructions.

-       Work with the art department to meet packaging artwork deadlines.

-       Review all artwork for accuracy, prior to submitting to the client/ vendor.

-       Work with sales operations to finalize complete pricing for each project.

-       Ensure product development cycle is complete with a client placed PO.

-       Strong aesthetic and sense of style

-       Effectively partners with internal teams to deliver results

-       Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

-       Operates with a high sense of urgency; demonstrates strong time management skills

-       Ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow-up

-       Ability to function and succeed in fast-paced environment

-       Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, and active listening

-       Clear understanding of the beauty landscape

-       Ability to travel as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

-       8+ years beauty product development experience

-       8+ years beauty packaging development experience

SALARY RANGE:

$110-140K; DOE
