Shift: 2 days on, 3 days off, 12 hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Management: Create initial tickets and perform diagnosis for network switches, routers, access control devices, wireless systems, and monitoring platforms. Take ownership of first-level network services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Security Initiatives: Manage and maintain security measures such as intrusion detection systems, internet monitoring, and virus protection to safeguard our network environment.
  • Documentation & Procedures: Follow established run books and escalation procedures. Review, create, and publish support documentation to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Escalation: Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, working alongside peers, Level 1, and Level 2 support teams to meet team objectives.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to the successful on-time delivery of small to medium-sized projects within the IT Operations team.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate the status of issues, assigned tasks, and project updates to various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement improved processes and enhance diagnostic tools for the team, proactively resolving potential issues before they impact business operations.
  • Flexibility: Maintain a flexible availability to support our 24x7/365 operations, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Cisco IOS, Nexus OS, and JunOS commands.
  • Familiarity with FiberPath Nexus 2K, 5K, and 7K functions, Cisco wireless technology, and switching/routing protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in WAN environments (T-1, T-3, OC-3, OC-192, Metro-E).
  • Knowledge of DNS and DHCP administration.
  • Familiarity with firewall administration and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Proficient in basic UNIX and Windows commands.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds and Extrahop.
  • Experience with incident, problem, knowledge-base, service catalog, and change management.


Experience:

  • 2-4 years of enterprise-wide networking experience.
