Job Title:

HVAC Service Technician 

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a skilled HVAC systems serviceman to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing system issues, performing routine maintenance, and providing exceptional customer service.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. 
  • Diagnose routine inspections and preventive maintenance. 
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret manufacturer specifications. 
  • Perform CSD1 boiler inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards. 
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and provide maintenance recommendations. 
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used. 
  • Keep up to date with the latest HVAC technology and techniques. 

Skills Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. 
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Type I, II, or Universal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

Bumler Mechanical, Inc. ("Bumler") is a mechanical contracting firm serving Metro Detroit and the surrounding areas since 1946. We self-perform HVAC sheet metal and piping and have strategic partnerships with many plumbing, electrical, insulation, balancing, and fire protection firms. Our sister company Building Automated Systems and Services ("BASS") has been actively involved in the design, installation, and servicing of temperature control systems for over 30 years. All of us at Bumler and BASS feel that the size of our company allows us to be uniquely positioned to provide our customers with all of the necessary knowledge, experience, flexibility, and expertise required to perform excellent service without losing the atmosphere of a family-owned business. 

We are licensed to install mechanical HVAC, high-pressure boilers, refrigeration, electrical and communications wiring. We are committed to enhancing our project management, estimating, engineering, detailing, and supervision capabilities every year through numerous industry seminars and training courses.  

We have a strong rapport with many consultant engineers and understand the protocol of working in a team-constructed environment. We have collaborated on many fast-track design/assist projects. Our engineers have extensive estimating experience and knowledge. Their understanding of costs is at the foundation of every design and that understanding is utilized to bring customers practical designs that meet their budgets for the first cost while maintaining energy efficiencies to ensure long-term cost objectives are met.
