The services we provide are designed to improve overall quality of health and equip families to achieve a more balanced lifestyle by prioritizing their physical, mental, emotional, social and financial wellbeing.


We provide nutrition counseling, health screenings, lactation and doula care with a focus on perinatal education. Under the oversight of a medical director, our team includes lactation consultants, dietitians, doulas, mental health providers, childbirth and health educators seasoned with over 40+ years of experience combined. We aim to foster optimal birthing and lactation experiences to families during their perinatal journey through personalized support and our empathy centered approach which includes compassionate and culturally appropriate care to BIPOC families.


We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable bilingual Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a Lactation Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert feeding support and guidance to new lactating parents and families. Your role will involve conducting a full assessment of lactating dyads. This includes observing and evaluating feedings, dyad anatomy and physiology, addressing challenges, educating parents on latch and positioning, connecting them to necessary resources and outside referrals and promoting a positive feeding experience that helps families meet their unique goals and learn how to work breastfeeding into their lives. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for all families.


Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments of the breastfeeding dyad.

• Designs, implements and evaluates individualized plans of care to meet patient needs.

• Maintains accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.

• Coordinates lactation management with the staff and referring providers.

• Provides outpatient clinical assistance for feeding difficulties which includes an appropriate care plan, follow up and communication with referring physicians.

• Conducts prenatal breastfeeding education classes and support groups as needed.

• Attends organizational events as needed.

• Upholds patient confidentiality and sensitivity.

• Stays updated on current issues and best practice standards in breastfeeding and human lactation.


Qualifications

• Is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in good standing.

• Must be bilingual.

• At least 3 years experience in breastfeeding and human lactation preferred. 

• Proven experience as an IBCLC in a healthcare setting is desirable (outpatient experience preferred).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Empathetic and supportive demeanor.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in maintaining detailed patient records.

• Commitment to promoting breastfeeding and optimal maternal and infant health.


Physical Requirements

  • Work requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and bending.
  • Must have the ability to speak clearly and be easily understood.
  • Visual acuity and acute hearing are required.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds of weight.
