Company Description:
Coastal Precast Systems, LLC manufactures precast/prestressed concrete products. These products consist of deck and wall panels, MSE walls and barriers, parking garage components, any type of bridge component, tubs, piles, girders, piers, pile caps and other heavy-duty applications for both marine and land projects. We primarily do Structural projects with occasional Architectural work.
We are ideally located off the southern branch of the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake, VA. We can service the entire eastern seaboard and Caribbean (or world) via our barge and have our own trucking company for land shipped products.
Our plant is PCI certified (as well as adhering to ACI, AASHTO and various DOT standards). We can produce a wide range of large customized structural concrete products. We can produce precast units for any size project (up to 400 Tons in a single pick), with a capacity of approximately 20,000 cubic yards per month in our plant.

Position Requirements and Duties:
• 5+ years’ experience in precast concrete, structural preferred but not required.
• Associate degree or BS in related field.
• Ability to read Architectural and Structural drawings, as well as developing concept drawings from sketches.
• Work with sales, engineering, project management, qa/qc and other plant personnel.
• Can work on a full range of precast concrete projects—from heavy structural and civil (Girders, piles, slabs, tubs, or segmental, etc.) to Architectural (Parking Structures, Stadiums, wall panels, etc.) to miscellaneous CIP conversions to precast.
• Be familiar with AISC/AWS standards and detailing.
• Lay out projects, or detail shop tickets for fabrication.
• Have an innate ability to visualize project layouts and fabrication details (think like an erector and shop fabricator)
• Superior AutoCAD Proficiency, 2D experience with 3D knowledge.
• Use and knowledge of MS office.
• Should have a good knowledge of project specifications and ability to interpret them.
• Should excel at problem solving and be detailed oriented.
• Self-starter, motivated, as well as being able to work alone or in a team.
• Perform structural limited handling calculations for precast members.
• Perform project take offs and assist estimation and project detail tracking and production release.
• Assist in engineering project coordination and plant design projects.
Full time salary, 40hrs+ per week, Medical, 401K, Paid Vacation and Holiday’s.
Salary / Benefits:
Negotiable and dependent on experience.
Range: 65k – 80k
