Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Enterprise Architecture team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DevOps, system scalability, reliability, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong development background in Java or C++. This position is based in New York City or Greenwich, Connecticut, with an expectation of working on-site. Candidates outside these areas who are willing to relocate will be considered.


Key Responsibilities:

System Reliability: Ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of enterprise systems and applications.

CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline build and release processes.

Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform or CloudFormation.

Code Development & Documentation: Write and review code, create documentation, and develop capacity plans.

On-Call Rotation: Serve as an escalation point for service incidents as part of an on-call rotation.

Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance.

Technology Exploration: Conduct proof-of-concept work on new technologies and stay current with industry trends.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or other STEM-related fields.


Experience:

7-10 years in IT.

7+ years of hands-on DevOps experience.

5+ years of coding experience in Java or C++.

Strong scripting experience (Python, Perl, Shell).

Cloud & Containerization: Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS (preferred) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Infrastructure as Code: Expertise with Terraform or CloudFormation.

CI/CD Expertise: Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for efficient build and release processes.

System Expertise: Experience with Linux/Unix systems, networking fundamentals, and highly regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.

Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments.

Problem Solving & Communication: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
