Medix is currently partnered with a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specializing in the design and production of high-quality automated manufacturing machines used within the construction industry. Their machines are used by top manufacturers worldwide, and are committed to innovation, precision, and excellence in everything they do.
Due to growth of the organization, we are seeking a Purchasing Expeditor to help sustain their demand and maintain inventory control. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials and components, coordinating with suppliers, and expediting orders to maintain efficient production schedules.
Contract to Hire; Monday - Friday (6/8AM - 2:30/4:30PM, flexible start times)
Pays up to $28 / hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase orders for materials, components, and services needed for the manufacturing of automated shingle machines.
- Monitor and track order status to ensure on-time delivery.
- Expedite orders by following up with suppliers to address delays, shortages, or other issues that may impact production schedules.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
- Work closely with the purchasing department to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
- Collaborate with inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid production downtime.
- Assist in inventory audits and participate in cycle counts as needed.
- Provide timely updates on order status and potential shortages to relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier communications.
- Generate reports on order status, delivery performance, and supplier reliability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding purchasing and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or expediting role, preferably within a manufacturing or OEM environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read blueprints.
