Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role as a Commercial Lines Associate Underwriter at SSIU. As an Associate Underwriter, your day-to-day tasks will involve analyzing insurance policies, assessing risk, determining premiums, and providing support to underwriting teams. This role requires a combination of office-based work in our Daphne, AL location, with flexibility for some remote work.


Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate risk and make informed underwriting decisions
  • Experience in the insurance industry, particularly commercial lines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using underwriting software and other relevant tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as insurance, business, or finance, is preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), are a plus
