  • This is a 24-month contract opportunity to start with opportunity for contract extension and/or conversion to an internal employee.
  • Contract/Consulting work is full-time, 40 hours/week Monday to Friday.
  • Our client works on a hybrid schedule, on-site 3 days/week and once integrated with the team there is more flexibility for remote work.

Job Overview:

  • Configuration and Support of Checkpoint (NGX R65, R70, R71, R75 and R77), Juniper Firewalls (SRX5400, SRX5600 and SRX5800), Cisco Firewalls (ASA 5505, 5506-X, 5585), Palo Alto Networks Firewall models (PA-3k and PA-5 k).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events.
  • Technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies.
  • Security consulting on medium projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards.
  • Document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security and correlate security logs.
  • Subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity.
  • Security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives with product development team to automate daily processes and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in information and network security.
  • Managing large scale enterprise security solutions.
  • Knowledge of networks and networking.
  • Knowledge of information security and security principles.
  • Knowledge of information security standards, frameworks, policies, controls, and regulations.
  • Experience with and knowledge of firewall and IPS technologies to work frequent evenings and occasional weekends to support and implement production changes.
  • Experience in scripting, automation and development methodologies/tools such as Ansible, Perl
  • Understanding of software development life cycle

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Working with Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Cisco firewalls.
  • Recognized security certifications.
  • Knowledge of regulations required in a financial environment.
  • Writing technical procedures, references, and other documentation.
  • Working with cross functional teams.
