Job Description:

"The Mechatronics Engineer will support new technology development projects from end-to-end: build, debug, create SOPs and troubleshooting guides, train operators and support final deployment. Most projects include industrial automation systems, robots (6 axis, SCARA, collaborative, gantry), machine vision (cameras, lighting, and programming), motion control (including actuators, motors, pneumatics), sensors, encoders, real time operating systems, and data acquisition systems (IoT)

  • Ability to program, test, and troubleshoot UL508A industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMI’s, cabinet hardware, VFD’s, starters, I/O, ladder logic) with oversight from customer Engineering team
  • Basic software development skills with proficiency in Python and C++
  • Experience: using 3D CAD to review and design mechanical components and assemblies; designing, building, and troubleshooting functional prototypes of mechatronic systems incorporating compute, sensing, and actuation, from selecting drivers to onboard compute platforms
  • Working experience with mechanical fixturing and pneumatics.
  • Ability to drive root cause/corrective action and process optimization activities to closure efficiently with proper design of experiment (DOE) practices
  • Understanding of: industrial control system network design; basic machine vision and troubleshoot with oversight from customer Engineer team; IoT systems and applying to industrial controls and robotics including data visualization; multiple sensor types and methodologies
  • Experience with MS Office, Keynote
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Robotics, or equivalent) with 2+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronics developing, prototyping, and applying automation, industrial controls systems, IoT, AI machine vision, and robotics into cohesive and innovative solutions
  • Preferred: Basic understanding or familiarity with machine learning solutions; experience with SQL programming, Linux, and database design"
