Job Title: Mold Setter – Injection Molding
Seeking Mold Setters, (2nd & 3rd shift), to join the team of a leading manufacturer in the Goshen area
Job Summary
The Mold Setter plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient setup and operation of injection molding machines. This position involves setting up molds, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring products meet both internal and customer quality standards. The role requires attention to safety, teamwork, and technical precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with various tasks, including those typically assigned to Cell Team Members and Cell Technicians, as needed.
- Complete advanced preventive maintenance tasks on machines.
- Conduct initial quality checks of molded products.
- Perform minor machine repairs and maintenance.
- Set up and operate all injection molding machines within the assigned work area.
- Handle mold-related tasks like rigging, using hoists, locking out machines, and assembling/disassembling molds.
- Use lockout/tag out or injection molding equipment shutdown processes safely.
- Utilize the I.Q. System to generate work orders when needed.
- Undergo Paulson training to enhance skills in operating and maintaining machinery.
- Safely operate mold handling equipment and perform mold services like cleaning and assembly.
- Execute machine start-ups and shutdowns, initially with supervision and later independently.
- After receiving proper training, perform basic mold setups with minimal supervision.
- Take on any other job-related tasks assigned by your team leader.
Education And Skills Required
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating and maintaining injection molding machines or similar heavy manufacturing equipment
- Must own a full set of hand tools and a toolbox.
- Obtain and maintain a valid PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) license.
- General maintenance experience is a plus.
- Physically able to perform tasks that require standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Comfortable climbing ladders to access elevated work areas.
- Able to safely use power and hand tools, as well as forklifts.
- Can read and interpret machine drawings, control diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to handle basic repairs and machine adjustments.
- Strong customer focus and positive attitude.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
