Pride Health is hiring Medical Laboratory Scientist II - MICROBIOLOGY MED TECH to support our client’s medical facility based in Austin, TX 78701

. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization


Required - ASCP or AMT and Blood Bank Experience is required.


Location: Austin, TX 78701


Job Type: 3 months - W2 contract - with possible extension


Schedule: 4 x 10 schedule 9pm-7:30

AM


Pay Range: MLT's $20-$25 per hour

MT's $29-$37

(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)


Responsibilities:

· Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.


· Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.


· Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.


· Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.


· Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.


· Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.


· Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.


· Assist with processing of specimens when needed.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.


· Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.


· BLOOD BANK EXPERIENCE is preferred.
