Procurement Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Procurement Manager with experience with purchasing all chemicals, products and services needed in clinical trials for a Pharma Manurfacturing client. This will be a remote position with a 1-year contract with possibility of direct hire after successful completion of the project. Candidates with 7+ years of experience in the pharma industry, with a minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in biotech/pharma clinical trial outsourcing will be considered.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized knowledge and lead the creation of vendor bids (RFI/RFP), contracts, budgets, and manage proposals.
- Foster internal cross-functional and external supplier relationships to support the development of clinical programs.
- Define clear deliverables throughout the sourcing process for internal business customers and external suppliers to effectively support supply chain initiatives.
- Collaborate with Business Owners, stakeholders, vendors, and the legal team to review CDAs, CTAs, MSAs, Consulting Agreements, SOWs, Amendments/Change Orders, and other required documents.
- Oversee the vendor selection process by coordinating bid defenses and proposal evaluations, working closely with program leads to develop bid comparisons.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure vendors are properly qualified and onboarded according to processes and SOPs.
- Manage contract lifecycles in coordination with other departments (e.g., Legal) as necessary.
- Participate in vendor governance meetings as required.
- Assist in measuring and reporting on supplier performance through issue resolution and KPIs.
- Contribute to process development and tools related to procurement functional growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotech/pharma, life sciences, outsourcing, supplier management, or business partnering.
- Preferably 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with a minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in biotech/pharma clinical trial outsourcing.
- Experience with the procure-to-pay (P2P) process and working in a P2P system is required; Coupa experience is advantageous.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels of business.
- Strong team orientation and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience in clinical programs and a working knowledge of GxP is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage oversight, performance, and relationships with external suppliers and service providers.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of a rapidly growing biotech company.
- Strong understanding of the drug
