PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the production schedule and material requirements to support customer demand and financial targets.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Issuance of commercial purchase orders as required to support the manufacturing schedule / forecast.
• Facilities and directs development of production schedule.
• Management of purchase order requirements to obtain optimum inventory levels to prevent stockouts and achieve working capital targets.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations and Project Management to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
• Coordination with the Scheduling team on material status changes which impact the production plan.
• Communication of critical material pricing and availability changes to Leadership Team.
• Management of open orders and expedite as required to ensure production schedule attainability.
• Collaboration with Inventory Control team on expired inventory and management of slow moving and obsolete inventory.
• Management of supplier returns and credit issuance for out of specification or damaged materials/components.
• Lead discussions with support departments to optimize production goals and communication customer requirement changes.
• Establishes best business practices related to scheduling, planning and materials management.
• Resource for customer calls or suppliers calls as needed.
• Completion of other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling and procurement.
• Ability to multi-task in fast paced CDMO environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning and scheduling techniques.
• Advanced computer skills and literacy.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Office.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP a plus.
