Composite Technician

Job Responsibilities:
• Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology, or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications
• Analyses failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures
• Generates test plans, identifies, and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations
• Proposes, develops, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications
• Determines suitability of parts, materials, and processes
• Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers
• Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology
• Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers
Required Skills:
· 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician
· Good work ethic, high mechanical aptitude and knowledge of composite materials
Education:
· Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.)
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Hand layup experience
• Composite and metal bonding experience
• AFP equipment operation experience
• NC programming experience
• VCP programming experience
• Robot, gantry, lathe and mill operation experience
• CAMS experience
• Assembly experience
• Structural test experience
