Job Title: Panel Wirer

Location: Northbrook

Job Type and Duration: Contract - 6 months; potential contract to hire



We are currently looking for a Panel Wirer with five years of hands-on experience to join our team The person in this role will work closely with the Assembly Technicians, Engineers, and the Electrical department to plan for, execute, and troubleshoot the Company's electrical control systems. Hours are 6am – 2:30pm M-F, and you will be working in a clean temperature controlled (air conditioned in summer/heated in winter) environment .

Responsibilities:

  • Will assist in assigning daily workload to electrical team with system assembly manager to ensure daily and weekly needs are met on skids in process and in commissioning and will report back to systems manager on progress.
  • Will evaluate red lines(corrections) on electrical drawings from other workers and present changes to engineering and elec. CAD for revisions and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, Hex, Flowmeters and other equipment on skidded systems with regard to proper working installation.
  • Special projects as assigned


Required skills:

Ability to:

  • Read and understand Electrical Schematics
  • Interpret factory wiring instructions for components
  • Neatly plan and route multiple cables to control cabinet for termination
  • Modify cord grips and locate on cabinet to run cables shortest distance to install in sub-panel
  • Understand labeling of individual wires from schematic and connect to terminal blocks
  • Assess correct wire for use on components from schematic
  • Use Multi meter and do continuity checks
  • Wire High and low voltage cables along with 4-20 mA
  • Assist with installation of all components and for troubleshooting during the commissioning process
  • Run air and electrical lines from component parts to control cabinets
  • Evaluate red lines(corrections) on electrical drawings from other workers and present changes to engineering and elec. CAD for revisions and documentation.

  • Understand Amperages and Voltages both European and domestic
  • Have attention to detail double checking your work
  • Follow all safety requirements in all areas
  • Be to work on time


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of hands-on mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with commonly used tools
  • Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office skills


Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

  • Able to lift 30Lbs weekly
