Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Agency’s primary cinematographer/DP for most productions, leading story development and visual composition while collaborating with your production team (Producer, Grip/Gaffer, Director, PA) to ensure a seamless experience and outstanding results for each project.
  • Act as the Agency’s primary video editor, using Premiere and DaVinci to craft compelling and visually stunning stories that align with the provided brief. Projects will include brand films, commercials, social videos, and various corporate videos.
  • Assist the Producer in developing comprehensive pre-production plans using Milanote, handling tasks such as shot list creation, equipment planning, scheduling, treatment references, lighting diagrams, and storyboards.
  • Ensure each project aligns with the company’s strategic and creative vision while meeting the specific goals of each client.
  • Regularly interact with clients on set and in pre-production meetings, delivering exceptional customer service throughout the entire process.
  • Track and document production progress using Asana, the company’s project management software.
  • Provide basic animation support using After Effects, including transitions, text animations, logo animations, and other end deliverables.
  • Manage the Agency’s production equipment, van, and facilities, ensuring all assets are organized and properly maintained.
  • Oversee the Agency’s internal server (Synology NAS), ensuring all projects are clearly labeled and backed up according to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Agency’s Account Management, Creative, and Operations departments, offering clear communication, constructive feedback, and thoughtful recommendations for each project.
  • Act as the primary driver for the Agency’s production van during local productions, ensuring safe transport of crew members to and from set.
  • Occasionally (10-20% of the time), manage the transportation of crew members and Agency-owned equipment via air travel for productions outside the primary region.
  • Attend all company-wide meetings, providing thought leadership in your area of expertise and contributing value beyond your specific role.
  • Research and implement new industry trends and best practices to continually enhance the Agency’s production services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Proven DP/Editor experience as showcased through a professional production reel or portfolio
  • 3+ years of experience in professional video production
  • Extensive experience operating professional video equipment (camera, lighting, audio, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with editing short and long-form video
  • Extensive experience with managing and interacting with clients in person and virtually
  • Extensive experience with file management and storage solutions
  • Thorough understanding of the current video marketing landscape and confidence to share those insights with others
  • Familiarity with the StoryBrand® marketing framework and associated strategies
  • Extensive network of freelance contacts in the DFW region and/or beyond
  • Extreme attention to detail, and clear competency for creating elevated work
  • Naturally inclined creative, with organizational and strategic skills to compliment
  • High emotional intelligence, committed to showing empathy to others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
