Carolina PRG has partnered with a growing manufacturing headquarters to help build out their operational finance team. This is a newly created position that will support the operational leadership team with strategic business decision, process improvement, data reliability, KPI's, and trend analysis. The Ops Finance Manager/BU Controller manages a Senior Financial Analyst and a Junior Financial Analyst. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in driving strategic decision-making for manufacturing operations by providing insightful financial analysis, developing accurate forecasts and budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and profitability improvement. You will be a bridge between finance and operations, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment with strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the monthly forecasting process for manufacturing costs, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify and investigate cost deviations from plans, budgets, and trends recommending corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Partner with operations teams to understand their financial needs, ROI analysis, provide financial insights, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and productivity enhancements
  • Develop, in partnership with the Operations team, a robust Cost Reduction Program focusing on both material costs as well as conversion costs in order to drive improved financial performance
  • Prepare and present clear and concise financial reports and presentations to senior management, communicating complex financial information effectively
  • Manage and oversee the performance of the Operations Finance team within the finance function, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within the finance department
  • Analyze current applicable accounting processes to determine opportunities for improvement
  • Lead the development and implementation of the annual operating plan and budget for the manufacturing function, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
  • CMA/CPA is a plus
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing financial models, managing budgets, and conducting variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data visualization tools a plus.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and cost management methodologies beneficial
