Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled High Yield Credit Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the high yield credit market, with a focus on identifying compelling investment opportunities and assessing credit risk. This role offers the opportunity to conduct in-depth research, perform detailed financial analysis, and contribute to the development of investment strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of high yield credit instruments, including corporate bonds, leveraged loans, and distressed debt securities. Evaluate creditworthiness, financial health, and risk profiles of issuers, industries, and sectors.
  2. Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including assessing company fundamentals, industry dynamics, capital structure, and covenant analysis. Identify catalysts and events that may impact credit quality and investment performance.
  3. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to forecast cash flows, assess valuation, and stress-test scenarios for high yield credit investments. Utilize quantitative techniques to evaluate risk and return profiles and support investment decision-making.
  4. Market Research: Stay abreast of market trends, macroeconomic factors, regulatory developments, and geopolitical events impacting the high yield credit market. Identify emerging opportunities and risks to inform investment strategies.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other members of the investment team to generate investment ideas, formulate strategies, and optimize portfolio construction. Communicate research findings and investment recommendations effectively.
  6. Risk Management: Monitor portfolio positions, credit exposures, and market dynamics to assess and manage risk effectively. Implement risk management protocols and controls to mitigate downside risks and preserve capital.
  7. Performance Analysis: Evaluate investment performance, attribution, and portfolio analytics. Identify areas for improvement and optimization to enhance investment returns and risk-adjusted performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in high yield credit analysis, preferably within a hedge fund, asset management firm, investment bank, or credit research agency.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and credit analysis methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate investment theses and interact with senior stakeholders.
