SUMMARY

The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory functions, including testing processes and results, meet established quality standards overseen by the QA Manager. This role involves developing,

implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols, conducting audits, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. The QA Specialist operates independently of all laboratory areas, generating analytical data to ensure complete objectivity in evaluating laboratory operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The QA Specialist works closely with the QA Manager to ensure that A&B quality policies, which include, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintaining a QC program meeting TNI, ISO 17025, and other regulatory agency standards ensures that all A & B Labs data are scientifically sound, legally defensible, and of known precision and accuracy.

Works with the QA Manager in internal audits and laboratory inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with written SOPs.

Coordinating the distribution of Performance Evaluation (PE) samples, evaluating the results of those samples, and reporting the results to the PE provider, then applying corrective actions needed to ensure that the laboratory can generate data that meet the data quality objectives defined in the A&B QA Plan.

Maintaining current calibrations on all support equipment and measuring devices.

Providing training and validation documents for all qualified personnel in the laboratory.

Keeping records and archives of all QC data, PE results, training files, logbooks, and calibration records for support equipment and measuring devices.

Assuring that the analysts have access to current SOPs.

Assuring analyst's accessibility to the QA plan,

Identify and implement corrective actions to address any issues or non-compliance found during audits.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The minimum qualifications for this position are a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science and 3-5 years of experience in an environmental testing laboratory is preferred. Knowledge of statistics and quality control procedures is a plus.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Proficient in data analysis and statistical software.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Able to communicate clearly with others.

Computer skills are required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position typically operates in a standard office environment. Proper safety protocols (PPE) must be followed when working in the lab.
