Sharp Tooling Solutions is a leading full-service supplier for the aerospace, automotive and defense industries specializing in the design and construction of checking fixtures and tooling. We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Welder with experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, fabricating, and assembling metal structures and components, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prep, lay out, fit, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications within 1/16”, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using GMAW, GTAW, carbon arc and gas, or other welding equipment.
- Scale and cut stock for building jobs.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or horizontal positions.
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Perform precision fitting and adjustments to ensure proper assembly.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Employees will also be expected to perform all physical requirements necessary for their position.
- Understanding of ITAR / FOD as required for aerospace and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding and fitting processes.
- Document work performed and report any discrepancies or safety concerns.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in various welding techniques and metal fabrication.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Ability to operate and maintain welding and fitting equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in welding and fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Observing, receiving, and communicating to aid in completing tasks.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, it is required that the candidate must be a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. §.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of experience as a Fitter/Welder in a manufacturing environment.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Familiarity with quality control processes.
Pay Rate and Benefits
- Pay Rate dependent on qualifications
- Work schedule is Monday – Friday with overtime as workload requires.
- Standard benefit package available including medical, dental, vision, 401k plan, etc.
