Job description

Acton Medical Associates, PC is a busy primary care practice for adult and pediatric medicine. We are seeking a full-time Medical Technologist to join our team.

The primary focus of the Medical Technologist is processing specimen, performing tests, and accurately reporting result including Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology testing and Phlebotomy.

Our Medical Technologist also must:

  • Follow proper procedures for specimen handline and processing
  • Accurately perform tests
  • Adhere to lab quality control policies
  • Perform instrument calibrations and maintenance as needed
  • Accurately report patient test results with proper documentation
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, correct or report such problems via the appropriate channels
  • Follow HIPAA and confidentiality laws and company guidelines
  • Be able to work independently, operate sophisticated equipment, solve problems, and know when it is appropriate to ask for assistance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science

OR

Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

  • MT (ASCP) registration or equivalent
  • One to Two years clinical laboratory experience
  • Fluent in English - ability to read and interpret instructions presented in written, oral, and diagram forms
  • Ability to calculate figures and amount such as percentages, units of measure, and dilutions.
