Job Description Summary

Stir Foods is seeking an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain Manager to join our team and lead the supply chain function to new levels of efficiency and strategic values. This role requires a proactive leader with the strong ability to enhance tools, processes and team capabilities within a growing organization. While adept in managing transactional tasks, the ideal candidate will also bring a strategic mindset, balancing daily operations with a forward-thinking approach to align supply chain practices with our company’s broader goals. This is a hands-on role and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building scalable systems and fostering team growth.


Duties & Responsibilities


Procurement

·        Oversee perishable replenishment management and purchase order process to ensure timely execution to meet production schedule demands

·        Ability to manage replenishment by the manipulation of data and formulas within a Demand/Supply Plan housed in Excel

·        Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery and cost effectiveness. Develop win/win partnerships by understanding partners’ values and leveraging for gains where necessary

·        Source ingredients as necessary in accordance with our New Product Development policies

·        Manage the supplier and product setup within TraceGains and the supplier and item on-boarding process in collaboration with Quality & Product Development

·        Responsible for the management all of Stir Foods direct and indirect spend

·        Ability to successfully negotiate contracted terms on pricing and volume in addition to factors impacting cost-effectiveness such as MOQs, FOB points, truck optimization etc.

·        Develop cost savings initiatives by pursuing opportunities in negotiation strategies of product costs, sku rationalization in collaboration with Product Development, sourcing alternative suppliers, historical spend/volume analysis and market considerations

·        Initiate scenario analysis to determine best cost solutions and mitigation against price increases


Inventory Management

·        Responsible for the management of both the physical and system inventory to ensure accurate, real-time visibility of stock levels

·        Develop and improve upon processes supporting inventory accuracy including cycle counting, work order consumption of inventory and inventory adjustments

·        Analysis of inventory value state and reporting to business risks to cash by identifying and addressing obsolescence and slow-moving items

·        Manage inventory by measuring supply policies effectiveness and execution to support demand in a just-in-time manner in collaboration with leadership team


Production Scheduling & Planning

·        Ensure scheduling function’s success by measuring timing of production against customer required ship dates

·        Oversight of the effective management of demand planning tools and methods to forecast needs, balancing customer demand with production and supply capacity

·        Identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, or capacity constraints to maintain efficient production flow


Inbound Logistics

·        Oversee and manage the inbound logistics process, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of raw materials, components, and supplies to meet production needs and cost management

·        Develop and maintain partnerships with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and suppliers to optimize delivery schedules, routes, and transportation modes

·        Develop freight contracts to balance cost-efficiency with service reliability, ensuring alignment with budget and service-level expectations


Warehouse

·        Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe handling of materials in accordance with SQF requirements

·        Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse activities to drive consistency, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards

·        Implement inventory management systems and controls to maintain accurate stock levels and support seamless operations across all supply chain functions

·        Support the Warehouse Manager’s lead of the design and layout improvement project to maximize storage capacity, improve workflow, and optimize space utilization

·        Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, creating a safe working environment for all warehouse staff through regular safety training and audits

·        Oversee warehouse equipment maintenance, coordinating repairs or replacements to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency

·        Monitor and control warehouse costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to align with budget targets while optimizing service levels


Shipping / Receiving

·        Oversee and manage all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments to meet customer and production requirements

·        Ensure all received goods are inspected for quality, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders, coordinating with procurement and quality teams to address any discrepancies

·        Manage outbound shipments, coordinating with customer service and quality to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped on time and to specification


Safety / Food Safety

·        Support food safety policies and continuous improvement initiatives; promote adherence to team and implement practices for accountability

·        Lead safety sub-committee promoting safety in all functional areas


Continuous Improvement

·        Lead initiatives to streamline and improve supply chain processes, enhancing efficiencies and reducing costs

·        Use data-driven analysis to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis to develop actionable solutions

·        Facilitate regular training and development programs focused on continuous improvement methodologies, equipping team members with the skills to identify and implement improvements in their areas

·        Implement best practices and benchmarking processes to maintain high standards of performance

·        Implement change management practices to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, tools, or policies, minimizing resistance and maximizing team buy-in


Leadership

·        Collaborate with leadership to align supply chain objectives with company goals; support cross-functional leaders in their respective goals and initiatives

·        Coach and develop team members and set clear, achievable goals aligning individual objectives with the overall supply chain strategy

·        Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, recognizing accomplishments, and addressing areas for improvement

·        Foster a collaborative, results-driven, accountable and respectful culture

·        Empower team members by giving them autonomy in decision-making within their roles, while providing guidance and support when needed to promote confidence and ownership

·        Promote a growth mindset within the team, encouraging continuous learning, curiosity, and innovation by supporting training programs, industry certifications, and skills development

·        Regularly collaborate with cross-functionally and with leadership team; present initiatives, project status and action plans


Accountability

·        Measure functional performance with KPIs

Qualifications

·        7+ years of progressive supply chain experience with 3+ years of experience as manager

·        Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a must

·        Excel at an intermediate level is required

·        Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset preferred

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential

·        Proven experience in having an influencing and collaborative approach

·        Experience using MRP within ERP is a plus

·        Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
