POSITION SUMMARY

The Insurance Specialist performs a variety of duties related to insurance application completion, review, verification and submission to agents to shop insurance coverage.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes daily incident report reviews, to determine eligibility for filing a claim, enter claims via Alacrity portal.
  • Supports claim filing by completing, copying, scanning forms for submission into portals.
  • Update and maintain Incident Report spreadsheets daily, determining severity and escalating.
  • Coordinate with Property and Regional managers to submit documents timely needed for insurance underwriting, incidents, claims, and litigation matters.
  • Working with external agencies to gather information to support underwriting reviews, claim filings, and follow up with claim payment collections/disbursements.
  • Completing, Copying, Scanning, Archiving and Emailing Acord and other insurance application forms once completed and verified by Exec Team.
  • Calendaring insurance policy due dates, notices, conference calls and other dates and correspondence in Outlook with reminders to manager.
  • Working with external agencies to gather information to support underwriting reviews, claim filings, and follow up with claim payment collections/disbursements.
  • Maintaining organized physical Files; uploading to shared drive and label accordingly into Property folders daily.
  • Participate in various ad hoc projects and activities.
  • Ability to pivot seamlessly, and willingly, depending on priority to accomplish tight deadlines.
  • Ensure organizations strict confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned by direct Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior Insurance experience 2-4 years.
  • 215, 220, or 440 License with FL Dept of Financial Services preferred (no Public Adjuster).
  • Insurance Underwriting, Agency, Carrier, Third Party Administrator experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, professional phone skills.
  • Energized and Enthusiastic candidate required.
