Position Summary

The Land Survey Crew Chief serves a critical role in training and supervising field crews and ensuring organized scheduling of services and tracking of project budgets. Along with the office staff and leadership, they establish and maintain standards, remove obstacles, analyze workflows, and identify inefficiencies. Importantly, they set the tone for the level of detail and quality of documents prepared by SPG.

Full-Time

40 hours per week

Responsibilities And Duties

• Supervise field surveyors.
• Manage and schedule surveying and construction staking projects.
• Provide thorough, professional analysis of survey projects and construction layout including compliance with project scope, requirements and goals.
• Prepare contracts and change orders and analysis of legal descriptions and title documents.
• Develop, draft, QC, survey deliverables including Mapping Services, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Utility Easements, etc.

Qualifications And Experience

• High school diploma/GED, required
• Four-year degree is highly preferred
• Highly proficient in the use of Autocad and Carlson software suites
• Capable of managing all aspects of large land surveying projects
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Preparation and delivery of project proposals
• Proficient with boundary analysis, research, 3D contour analysis, title report analysis, survey certifications, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey preparation
• Provide strong communication and direction to field staff
• 7+ years of related experience required
