Validation Engineer / Co-Op

 

 

Job description

           Validation Engineer to engage in both development and testing on new and existing processes as well as maintenance of software and hardware of K-Tube’s miniature stainless steel manufacturing. This is a part-time position - up to 20 hrs/week. Candidates must be local to San Diego, CA area as position will be required to be onsite.


Duties and responsibilities

 

•         Assist in the creation of requirements and output documents for product releases

•         Assist in the creation of test protocols and reports

•         Execute testing against requirements

•         Ensure compliance with ISO regulatory requirements and K-Tube’s Quality processes

•         Potential for design work to create test fixtures or software for verification and validation testing

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience:

·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Bio-Medical engineering and/or a similar discipline

·        Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University and have successful completed 3 years of undergraduate coursework (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor’s degree)

·        Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

·        Ability to provide college transcripts as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member

·        Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship


Preferred Qualifications:

·        Prior experience as a quality, regulatory, or design engineer in medical device field

·        Knowledge of all phases of product development, including design, implementation, verification, validation, and manufacturing is preferred.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Proficient with MS Word, Excel

Physical requirements

·        Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

·        Light to moderate physical effort required

·        Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility

Work environment

·        Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment

·        Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials

·        Required to wear K-Tube polo shirt

Personal Protective Equipment

·        Safety glasses and safety shoes are required

·        Other personal safety equipment required as listed in SDS depending on task may include safety goggles, ear protection, full - face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves
