The Role


As the Carrier Sales Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the success of the business. This senior position demands a leader who can strategize and execute carrier procurement and relationship management. You’ll leverage your expertise and connections to secure capacity, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure seamless service delivery.


Key Responsibilities


  • Carrier Procurement: Build and maintain a reliable carrier network through strategic sourcing and relationship management.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a growing team of carrier sales representatives, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate competitive rates and terms with carriers, ensuring profitability and quality service.
  • Market Insight: Stay ahead of market trends, identifying opportunities to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations and customer sales, to deliver exceptional service to clients.
  • Process Development: Implement and refine processes to scale operations efficiently as the business grows.


About You


To thrive in this role, you should bring:


  • Experience: 5+ years in carrier sales, logistics, or freight brokerage, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of freight market dynamics, carrier networks, and pricing strategies.
  • Connections: Established relationships with owner-operators and small fleet carriers.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Leadership Skills: A proven track record of building and leading successful teams.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with TMS platforms and digital freight tools.
