Tate Metalworks, Inc., an industry leading fabricator and constructor of custom welded steel storage tanks and pressure vessels serving the specialty chemicals, pulp and paper, petroleum, environmental, power, food and beverage, and other heavy industrial manufacturing industries. The company has been in business for 52 years constructing storage systems throughout the lower 48 states, as well as shipping fabricated storage systems globally.

Position:

Tate Metalworks has an opening for a full-time Solidworks CAD designer. Working with our Project Engineering Team, the Solidworks Detailer will generate fabrication and construction drawings specific to client specifications and company standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Complete 2D and 3D fabrication drawings of storage tanks and pressure vessels as follows:
  • General Arrangement Drawings
  • Detail Fabrication Drawings
  • Field Construction, and Assembly Drawings
  • Structural Detail Drawings including stair systems, ladders, platforms, structural support systems
  • Generation of Project Specification and Non-Destructive Testing Drawings
  • Utilization of Company drafting standards, weld procedures in the development of fabrication drawings
  • Red-Line Drawing Edits


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical School or equivalent training utilizing Solidworks drafting software.
  • (2) years minimum on the job experience utilizing Solidworks software.
  • Work in office environment (40) hours per week at company headquarters
  • Written, Oral Communication Skills, along with ability to read and understand technical specification documents.


Preferred/Helpful:

  • Structural, Piping, and/or Mechanical Drafting Background


Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside and above the range shown.
