Our client, a prestigious products liability law firm in West Los Angeles seeking a passionate Senior Trial Attorney to join their dynamic team onsite. Attorneys will be responsible for delegation, supervision of deadlines, independently managing caseload, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in court, and preparing trial and pre-trial strategies. About the Role:
Role Overview: This role involves handling civil litigation in State and Federal courts. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, providing immediate and effective support to clients and other attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a full caseload, including pre-trial and trial preparation, pleadings, motions, and hearings.
- Oversee and engage in all stages of discovery, including ESI issues, depositions, and risk assessments, while delegating tasks and supervising deadlines.
- Develop and execute trial and pre-trial strategies, prepare litigation reports, and analyze legal risks.
- Prepare and argue substantive motions in court, including case-dispositive motions, and participate in settlement negotiations.
- Prepare and examine witnesses, handle cross-examinations, and respond to evidentiary objections in trial settings.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of trial experience, including 5-10 first-chair jury trials.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills with a solution-based mindset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Ability to interact effectively with judges, attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Licensed to practice in California, in good standing (required); ABOTA membership is a plus.
- Experience with legal technology and adaptability to new systems.
