Job Description: 

 

This is a contracted, 1099, position for no less than (6) months with the potential to convert into a Full-Time position during or after the contractual period. 

 

As a Senior Specialist in Payroll at FastLap, you will be responsible for overseeing and completing all aspects of the weekly payroll function for our enterprise-level automotive service company.  You will play a key role in the weekly processing, training and support for our corporate and store-based teams. In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, you will collaborate in the development and scaling of processes and reporting with current and future acquired partners. Your efforts will directly impact on our ability to achieve our strategic goals and maintain a competitive edge in the industry. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Ownership of the end-to-end payroll process for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
  • Ability to work independently & take initiative when appropriate to execute payroll.  
  • Calculate and process wages, bonuses, and other compensation elements. 
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure proper documentation and reporting for new hires, terminations, and personal changes are completed timely and accurately. 
  • Utilize payroll software and systems efficiently and effectively for seamless processing. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records. 
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. 
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for leadership review. Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to relevant partners. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries. Communicate payroll policies and procedures to employees. 
  • Work closely with internal and external partners in finance, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Requires in office presence (2) – (3) days a week in Fort Mill, SC. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.  
  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role within an enterprise-level organization. Automotive Service provider experience preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance. 
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Adept at analyzing data and reporting on payroll metrics. 
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Compensation: 

 

  • This is a contracted 1099 position at flat rate of $3,125 bi-weekly and requires in office presence (2) – (3) days a week in Fort Mill, SC.
