Job Description:
The CAD Integration Engineer will be working on the NG911 project. The role focuses on the integration, configuration, and testing of the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) emergency call system, specifically the Class 1/2/3 and NG911 Call Handling upgrade. The candidate will provide technical expertise and ensure that the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system meets the requirements of the client and the NG911 program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the integration of the CAD system with the NG911 Call Handling system.
- Direct the configuration of equipment and sub-systems into both PSAC environments for the NG911 implementation.
- Provide expert advice to the City and NG911 team on integration, engineering, and technical issues related to Telephony, Logging & Recording, CAD, and Call Handling phases.
- Lead the validation of CAD interfaces and participate in end-to-end system integration testing.
- Ensure the timely delivery of the CAD integration within the NG911 program, meeting all client requirements.
- Identify and manage the appropriate sequence and scheduling of integration efforts.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a CAD Integration Engineer.
- Proven expertise in NYPD ICAD systems.
- Experience in participating in the integration and testing of the NextGen911 Call Handling System with the NYPD CAD system.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience leading technical discussions in integration planning and review meetings, including managing action items.
- Expertise in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems specifically for police operations.
- Experience implementing a Call Handling System.
- Ability to identify system-level use cases and test cases aimed at interface validation.
- Experience assisting project leads, SDE teams, and subcontractors in setting up and testing interfaces in SDE.
Special Requirements:
- Proven experience in integrating CAD with Call Handling Systems.
- Previous experience with integration and testing on large systems.
Note: This position is critical for the successful deployment of the NG911 system and requires a highly skilled and experienced engineer capable of managing complex integration tasks under tight deadlines.
