Tool Crib Attendant

Hercules Custom Iron is a premier custom metal fabricator, fence and perimeter security company in the DC/VA/MD area. We excel in commercial and high security work at some of the most prestigious locations in the United States. Hercules is hiring a Tool Room Clerk for our Walkersville, Maryland location.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees tool room and maintains product and parts inventory control/management
• Issues tools and equipment and maintains records of tools and equipment usage/returns to tool room
• Maintains inventory of consumable/perishable tooling
• Receives, unpacks, and inspects incoming tools and equipment
• Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear
• Marks and identifies tools and equipment
• Manages Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Serves as Safety Liaison to include Tool Box Talks, Safety Catches and Common-Sense Walks through the Shop and open areas
• Supports production and shop as needed

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Tool Room and product and parts familiarity
• Excellent organizational skills with effective time management
• Ability to maintain a wide variety tools and equipment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent desired
• Fabrication shop or similar environment preferred
• Prefer 3+ years of experience in inventory and tool room management
• Previous safety experience

Physical Requirements:

• Safe lifting technique and ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend or lift for at least eight hours

Starting hourly rate $18-$20 depending on experience. Monday through Friday with overtime available.
