Our client, a Beauty brand, is seeking a Customer Business Manager based in Chicago to work closely, collaboratively, and strategically with Ulta Beauty in building sell-in for a go-to-market strategy. Must have experience working with Ulta in creating a business plan sell-in strategy and action plans to deliver with excellence. Will be responsible to drive a seamless, best in class omnichannel consumer journey and online customers experience. Will be responsible for challenging the status quo to develop new go-to-market opportunities and obtain widespread support by working effectively with others. Must have the ability to penetrate across the customer organization, including merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and finance at the appropriate levels; institute agreed to business principles; and have regular contact. Will lead, develop, and facilitate internal and external relationships in support of the business objectives. Will establish analytics and performance of Omni activities to drive profitable sales growth and productivity with both internal and external partners.


  • The salary range for this role is 120-130k.


Responsibilities:


  • Contribute point of view and develop omnichannel sell-in and sell-through retail action plans to become more efficient with internal teams including Sales Insights and Strategies Team, Marketing (US / eCOMM), Trade Marketing, Finance, Logistics, and Inventory Management.
  • Employ key strategic alignment/influence with external teams including In Store Merchant Team, EComm Merchant and Content Team, and Store Operations.
  • Create and maintain weekly strategic activation (In Store and digital) plans that align with brand vision/objectives.
  • Provide weekly internal communication to account for results and gap closing actions.
  • Work proactively with all internal and external contacts to achieve Net Sales, GM, and POS targets.
  • Develop and implement business building strategic plans to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Integrate corporate strategy with customer’s go-to-market strategy
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the customer’s Weekly and Annual consumption plan for integration into the overall account business plan in conjunction with Sr. Planning Analyst.
  • Develop business plans to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Manage the P&L for the customer’s brands to ensure account profitability.
  • Manage the customer P&L to meet objectives set forth by Leadership.
  • Determine financial needs based on business plans and ROI analysis.
  • Work with Finance Team to ensure Revenue Growth.; analyze and track customer POS and investments.
  • Execute Long Range Planning and annual Joint Business Plans that incorporate company and customer timelines to ensure maximum execution and volume from joint efforts that ensure profitable and sustainable growth across the business and Customers KPIs.
  • Integrate corporate strategy with customer’s go-to-market strategy.


Required Qualifications:


  • 5-7 years direct selling experience within CPG industry required (Cosmetics, specific applicable Channel experience preferred). Previous broker management sales experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify both short- and long-range sustainable growth opportunities based on in-depth understanding of both company and customer strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience converting analytical information into Sales tools to promote sales and profit goals within customer business plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to take appropriate risks as part of a comprehensive long-range growth plan.
  • Ability to drive for results.
  • Ability and desire to operate as a “hands-on” operational leader.
  • Commitment to maintaining accuracy for assigned product categories.
  • Demonstrated success of proactively planning and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure a plan is followed through to completion and corresponding success.
  • Experience developing successful new business building ideas based on total understanding of the customer’s business drivers and go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and develop proactive solutions to avoid problems.
  • Ability to think around a multi-faceted issue to identify the best solution.
  • Ability to communicate with presence to assigned Brokers, Customers, and Management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, actively, and cross-functionally to ensure thorough understanding of programs, customer needs, and competitive activity.
  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat skills necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years direct selling experience required with previous (CPG, Cosmetics, applicable Channel experience preferred).
