Job Description

The candidate must be able to work independently or with Engineers on the development of original equipment designs or adaptations. Performs complex computer aided designs with emphasis on functionality, manufacturing, and maintainability. Employs the best combination of information and contributing data to develop final design. Ability to utilize a data management system to manage change on equipment bills of materials. Handles special projects, as assigned. The candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. 10% Travel

 

Reports to: Director of Engineering 

Essential Functions: 

  • Candidate would be working from a detailed order specification to convert customer requirements into detailed engineering specifications, including drawings and bill of materials.  
  • Candidate would have to be experienced with the creation of typical component fabrication & assembly drawings, General Arrangement drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs. 
  • Create, update, and maintain drawings in AutoCAD, Inventor and Plant 3D software. 
  • Modify existing Project drawings for modification and upgrade projects. 
  • Maintain Project & Product drawings under change control in AutoDesk Vault 
  • Check each design against job specifications. 
  • Run numerical analysis in company tools to verify design parameters.
  • In design, consider form, fit, and function; safety in assembly, maintenance and operation; method and ease of manufacture; method and ease of assembly and appropriate materials of construction. 
  • Support customer required delivery by meeting deadlines for supplying drawings to customers and manufacturing. 
  • Solves customer problems with professionalism.  
  • Maintain the company culture. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

 

  • 4-year Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or technician degree and equivalent experience. 
  • Senior-level engineer with 7+ years of experience.  
  • Experience drafting 
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Inventor software for design.  
  • Experience in ASME code, industry standards, Drafting and design Standards. 
  • Experience with P&ID’s and Electrical drawings and diagrams is desired. 
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Plant 3D and Inventor computer software. 
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, API & Osha. 
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings. 
  • Knowledge in Metal piping, Process systems, Plant layouts, and Conveyance. 
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, and skid assemblies 
  • Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments to high level of quality and on time. 
  • Detail oriented with a focus on first time quality, able to create and check drawings. 
  • Ability to select Materials based on design requirements.  
  • Able to collaborate and problem solve with others in a team setting. 
  • Able to create required templates, tools, calculation sheets to continuously improve company practices.
  • Able to meet metrics for productivity and meet deadlines on a high volume of tasks. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
