Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in Database Administration. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and SAP ECC 6 data management. Key responsibilities include designing and executing data migrations between diverse database systems, including SAP, and ensuring the optimal performance of our various database environments. 


Experience with SAP ECC 6 data is essential. This role requires collaboration with IT and business teams to support critical business processes and contribute to our growth through data integrations and Azure cloud data solutions. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Database Management: 

- Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. 

- Monitor and tune database performance, including query optimization and index management. 

- Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and replication strategies. 

- Ensure data integrity and security through the implementation and enforcement of database policies and procedures. 

2. Data Integration and ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading): 

- Develop and manage ETL processes to integrate data from various sources including SAP, into MS SQL, Azure Data-Lake, or Azure SQL. 

- Ensure timely and accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading. 

- Maintain and troubleshoot data integration workflows. 

3. Security and Compliance: 

- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data. 

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 

- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. 

4. Development Support 

- Provide technical support for development efforts for all database-related concerns. 

- Experience with Data integration between disparate systems including SAP. 

- Create and maintain detailed documentation for database models, configurations, procedures, and policies. 

5. Business Intelligence Reporting Support 

-Responsible for supporting and/or building datasets needed to support corporate reporting in SSRS and PowerBI. 

-Create and/or Manage data models and understanding the difference in data model strategies. 

 

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

- At least 5 years of experience as a Database Engineer working with IT Development. A person should have strong SQL skills. 

- Extensive experience with SAP ECC 6 SQL database management. 

- Proficiency in SQL Server, including database modelling and performance tuning.

- Experience with ETL processes and tools. 

- Strong understanding of database security and compliance. 

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

- Experience with other database technologies and tools. 

- Knowledge of Azure cloud database solutions and migrations 

  • Experience with Relational and Dimensional Modeling 
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and explain plans
