Position Type: 1 yr. contract with potential for extension/conversion


Immediate openings for 10-20+ Bioprocess / Biomanufacturing Associates with a leading, global company focused on gene therapy innovation, located in the North Bay region of the Bay Area.


Position type: Long-term contract role for 1 yr.; conversion after 1 year


Pay Rate: $28.00/hr., plus shift differentials for 2nd shift (10%, $30.80/hr.) and 3rd shift (15%, $32.20/hr.) hours


Shifts:

  • Positions may be 5x8-hour shifts, 4x10-hour shifts, 3x12, and 4x12 hour shifts. Manufacturing operations are 24/7, so this requires multiple off-shift coverages. Shifts will be discussed during interview. Position requires a degree or 1-2 yrs. of GMP manufacturing experience with an AA/AS or Biotech Certification.
  • 1st shift hours: 7am-3pm
  • 2nd shift hours: 3pm-11pm (10% shift differential added to the pay rate)
  • 3rd shift hours: 11pm-7am (15% shift differential added to the pay rate)


Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate large-scale bioprocess equipment for Cell Culture and Purification operations.
  • Prepare Buffer and Media solutions.
  • Perform all aspects of processing: preparation of equipment, disassembling equipment, assembling process equipment, performing CIP and SIP of equipment, performing pressure tests of equipment, performing I Testing of filters, calibration, and use of analytical equipment.
  • Display competency with process equipment and automated control systems
  • Knowledge of biotech manufacturing processes and equipment including cell culture, depth, and tangential flow filtration, column chromatography, protein purification, and formulation, and/or buffer and media operations.
  • Proficiency with compliance; adherence to standard operating procedures, batch record, good documentation practices, and data capturing


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related area or engineering, OR
  • Associate’s degree (AA/AS) in a science-related field OR Biotech Certificate with 2+ years of experience in a biotech manufacturing environment or other regulated industry
  • Strong communication skills—verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment that includes good conflict resolution and collaboration
  • Displays good initiative to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Consists of strenuous, repetitive work. The following list of physical movements may be used on a daily basis: bending, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, and making numerous equipment connections using hands.
  • Independently have the ability to regularly lift, dispense, push and/or pull items with an average weight of 25 pounds.
  • May require work around loud equipment.
  • The use of personal protective equipment will be required.
  • Requires various shift-based work and off-hours
