Insight Global is looking for a SCADA Specialist to join one of our local government clients in a 6-month contract engagement with extensions based on performance.


1. Participates in the design and implementation of the Natural Gas Distribution SCADA System. This includes Bristol Babcock, Emerson ControlWave, Automation ONSPEC, EZTouch, leased lines, Networking, AC/DC Electrical troubleshooting, Independent Project Oversight, and database troubleshooting.

2. Programs Bristol Babcock (DPC), ControlWave and connected devices; troubleshoots electrical systems; and sets up and troubleshoots leased line circuits.

3. Recommends and assists with the implementation of goals, protocols, and standards for the design, security, and reliability of the SCADA Network.

4. Administers various software programs related to the SCADA Network. This includes the management of all DPC’s, RTU’s, PAC’s, PLC’s and HMI programming, as well as revisions and backup strategies.

5. Serves as technical lead for Gas SCADA improvements. Reviews current and proposed regulations and coordinates network modifications with Capital Improvement Projects.

6. Serves as a lead for security, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the SCADA control and communications systems for the Natural Gas facilities.

7. Installs, configures, and modifies new and upgraded hardware and software to achieve increased efficiency, productivity, and improved work processes.

8. Recommends and provides oversight on contracts for hardware/software upgrades and predictive maintenance of the SCADA System.


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an instrumentation/control related field
  • Three (3) years of process control experience in a Natural Gas Distribution or similar system with an emphasis in SCADA technology
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
