Overview
As our Engineering Manager you will be a vital part of our organization. You will hold an important position on the Leadership Team responsible for setting, managing, and executing the global Engineering corporate strategy and contributing to the success of the Company.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set and maintain the Global Engineering efforts and direction which drive product and process innovation to improve efficiencies, profitability and increase customer value proposition in following key areas:
- Align the Engineering deliverables and timelines with the Company’s business objectives and Manufacturing strategy/resources.
- Implement and maintain a global engineering project tracking process inclusive of completed, open and future initiatives
- Gather and analyze industry and product information from internal and external sources to identify trends to create clear opportunity/liability assessments
- Develop and maintain consistent technical documentation protocols and processes
- Ensure products meet or exceed applicable safety and regulatory requirements
Work collaboratively with Operations and Purchasing to ensure products meet Quality, Performance and Application goals

Duties
- The role of Engineering Manager is responsible to the VP of Supply Chain and Engineering and expected to perform consistently and effectively in the following ways:
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to operate an effective and efficient Engineering department
- Develop policies/processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the Engineering department
- Establish and implement a standardized process for engineering project assessment/execution including:
Scope, Deliverables, Timeline, Milestones, Budget, Commercial assessment, Implementation plan, post go-live tracking and reporting
- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
- Oversee and direct the engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow in collaboration with Manufacturing.
- Support the development, creation and updating process of technical documentation/resources
- Collaborate with and support Operations and Purchasing to analyze Buy/Make decisions which will have a positive impact
- Support and assess creative problem-solving ideas to mitigate supplier and transportation issues
Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
Provide tactical support to engineering personnel is the execution of their duties
Carry out personnel performance reviews for direct and “dotted line” reports inclusive of corrective actions and skill development to enhance the capabilities and performance of the Engineering team
Act as a motivating force to support enthusiasm, engagement and accountability towards the products and the Engineering deliverables.
Travel as requested to company work sites.
Performs other duties within the scope of this exempt position.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Hands on experience with supply Engineering software (such as Solidworks, AutoCad, etc)
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Good time-management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics
Education and Experience
- BA in Engineering
- Three – Five years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
Physical Demands:
- This job has physical requirements such as: sedentary work, occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; speaking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 5 pounds.
